Welcome back! And welcome to the Tini Wini Wednesdays! >)
(spoilers today… not really though cause I’ve already spoiled the same stuff in older posts… but uh… if you haven’t read them, then… be warned! )
Anyways… With the Cataclysm expansion coming just around the corner (soon…), I couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed with the change in Horde leadership. Thrall did a pretty good job of holding everyone together. I mean, Taurens are fairly mellow and in a different world, could even be Alliance; but the Forsaken, Blood Elves, Goblins, and Trolls all seem to have issues with eachother in the Horde… Thrall did good keeping everything at peace within the faction and even did ok keeping all out war from erupting. Heck, even with his girlfriend Jaina, sat down to talk with the Alliance to smooth things over… ok, that didn’t work out so well, but you know Thrall and Varian could be like best buds if they just had some beer and fishing to break the ice.
Ok, to the point! Thrall is naming a successor! He has some business elsewhere for the time being and needs someone to lead the Horde. Sure, they “say” Garrosh is going to take things over, but this is a free country! And I demand an election!!!!
DECISION 2010!
Who will be the new leader of the Horde? To lead with an iron fist into battle or mend with steady hands the tattered fabric of diplomatic relations? YOU DECIDE!
Here are the Candidates:
Garrosh Hellscream - Determined and blood lusting. Garrosh takes a more conservative Orc stance with his politics; Blood and Thunder! Too long have the Horde been passive with the Alliance and under his rule a new age of war shall overtake the land. Although some internal Horde unities may be sacrificed, he promises to bring honor to the Horde and destruction to the Alliance.
Varok Saurfang - Honored Veteran of the first, second, and third wars, Varok stands as a formidable warrior and cunning strategist. However, do not mistake him to be a warmonger. In fact, Varok vows to end all war and exhaust every possible diplomatic mean to keep peace, not only within the Horde, but with every other faction and race in Azeroth. He represents a new face of the Horde, like Thrall’s vision, to build the infrastructure of its people and solidify peace between nations.
Sylvanas Windrunner - Leader of the Forsaken and Banshee Queen, she represents the pinnacle of overcoming adversity. Finding refuge for her newly formed people, escaping the grasp on the Lich King and later leading the way to his demise, and even leading the raid on UnderCity with Thrall when one of her own attacked the Horde. Strong and determined, she is ideal to unite the two Horde Kingdoms and end the mistrust between both sides. She was also Miss Tirisfal 1984!
Baine Bloodhoof - Son of Carnie and leader of the Tauren. He follows in his father’s footsteps to lead with honor and compassion. Baine has proven himself to be hard handed in battle while keeping a soft hand for diplomacy. He even quelled tense relations between the two factions by siding with Varian in order to defeat an evil that would destroy both sides. Although this soft approach is very different than that of the Horde, it may be the change that it truly needs.
Vol’jin - Darkspear Tribe leader and adviser to the Warchief. He has seen his people go through many struggles and does his best to lead them from nomadic exile to a solid home. His aide and relation with Thrall was nothing less than exemplary. Vol’jin’s main platform is to find more integration of the Darkspear into the Horde. He is concerned with Garrosh’s plan to exile all non Orcs from Orgrimmar, which would strain internal relations. However, some call his tactical and military power into question since he is a lvl ?? boss with 5.5 million health and the current ruler of the Darkspear’s native land, Echo Isles, is only a lvl 10 non elite.
Ralph Nader - Well… what election would be complete without his name in the pile?
Vote for the next leader of the Horde
- Varok Saurfang (40%, 199 Votes)
- Sylvanas Windrunner (17%, 84 Votes)
- Vol'jin (16%, 77 Votes)
- Baine Bloodhoof (8%, 40 Votes)
- Ralph Nader (8%, 40 Votes)
- Other "write in" (6%, 30 Votes)
- Garrosh Hellscream (5%, 24 Votes)
Total Voters: 494
My vote is bias towards what’s good for a socialist Alliance.
Luckily, The Horde are not a democracy. The downside of Garrosh is a devaluation of Orgrimmar faction reputation for Trolls and Forsaken. Well, it’s a downside for Troll. I’m not sure that the Forsaken care, if they could.
Garrosh seems to be pretty harsh when it comes to race relations. There will be definite tensions created if he becomes leader. The Taurens probably don’t care really, Blood Elves I’m not sure about (they probably don’t care either), and the Trolls will be furious… but the Forsaken kinda hate everyone really. They only seem to like the Blood Elves for some reason. But then again, it doesn’t matter much since the Forsaken plan to curse the whole planet with undeath anyways…
Remember that the Queen of the Forsaken is a former Ranger General of Quel’thalas…
yeah, but that was in her crazy teen years. partying with the Quel, drinking binges, helping the Alliance, etc… but after rehab and a slight metaphysical makeover I think she’s starting things off anew.
Though it does raise another question… why has the forsaken never tried to merge with the High Elves? I mean, they start off friendly with each other while the Forsaken are neutral with all the other races. Couldn’t they both run under the leadership of Sylvanas?
Just FYI I voted write in, and by that I mean ME! :D
*crickets*
Harumph… Ah well, at least I know some dirty little secrets about the other candidates, but I’ll keep the mud in beta. ;D
You got pictures of Garrosh with that intern do ya?
Guy Fawkes anyone? Got a ton of gunpowder under Garosh’s Iron bed (only weaklings need softness). Each match only $1.99 !
idk… he looks a little… gnomish with that mustache…
Humans check under their bed for orcs, orcs check under their bed for Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris checks under his bed for Saurfang. So I choose Varok Saurfang.
lol, a shame the Barrens decided to secede from the union to make Chuck Norris their president.
I vote for abesic kampfyre!
with his fire he’ll keep the horde warm and cozy!
yeah, I just think he’ll have trouble though… he takes a big loss on the druid vote because of his “tree form for tinder” platform.
Seriously!? I’m the only one that’s gonna vote for Lor’themar Theron!? BELVES FOR LIFE, BABY!!
You know, I thought about adding him to the list… however due to his not being in office for very long and even being on the side of the Alliance at one point, I decided to omit him…
However, this is a free faction, so I’ll put that write in into consideration! >D
Should anyone else want to elect Lor’themar, just write him in and if enough put that name in, I’ll add to the list.
I vote for.. Varian…
Oh no wait.
I mean Saurfang!
I adore Saurfang, he’s one of the best lore characters in the game. Hard cut yet noble, powerful yet gentle and most importantly he’s a guy thats done a few rounds, he’s seen alot and knows his own mind. He’s not out for honor or glory, he’s out for the good of Azeroth and he commands alot of influence.
But he’s not as young as he was, so that may work against him. Just hoping his ‘mentoring’ and influences on Garrosh shines through ‘cus they could politically be good for each other.
I’m not a blathering fangirl, honest…
pretty spot on overview of Varok there!
I just worry that Garrosh won’t really take much advise into consideration… ok… I’ll just say it… He’s the Dubya of warchiefs!
Saurfang - “No Garrosh, the Alliance are not housing WMDs inside Stormwind”…
Garrosh - “Well, we can’t be sure until wes blowsed em up! Fool me once… and uh… I won’t get fooled again! oh no! heh…. CSI rocks!”
Look how well that worked out in Borean Tundra.
What about Abasek Campfire? A far better warchief that Garrosh could ever be.
Whoops, I see the poster above already mentioned him. Still, he gets my vote especially since blizzard is pretty much already turning tree form into kindling.
lol, well, he’s got 3 write in votes so far. XD
I like how Garrosh is dead last. Even Ralph is beating him!
I VOTED FOR NADER, I HATE EVERYONE!!!
lol, I was fully prepared to email Nader to inform him that he will have to be president of a mmo faction… I wonder what he would have said to that…
You should look up “Real Life vs The Internet” on Youtube… I quoted from there. (Btw, the audio is NSFW on it).
I caught the Nader reference, being a huge RvB fan myself. Anyway, I voted for Sylvanas, having played a Forsaken character for a couple years now. Seeing what she’s done with Undercity, her tireless efforts to forge a home for her people after freeing themselves from Arthas, I think she could do a lot as leader of the Horde. If she had control of all Horde resources, there’s no way the alliance could stand against her! But, truth be told, I don’t think the rest of the Horde is ready for an Undead leader.
