So as soon as I saw THIS article, I knew I had to make this mini! For the lazy peeps out there, it’s basically talking about N.Korea’s twitter page. I find it to be pretty darn funny… I wont get into the whys this is a creepy idea… but you can imagine it might be ever so slightly edited in their own favor… just sayin…
Now, to Ps and Qs of the matter… This is referencing more about the insane things governments and people do especially in times of conflict. Might I reference here for a moment, China vs. Vietnam. In their hubris, decided to announce the very date and location of their main attack… not ending so well actually. And in a broader sense, the media in general; during the last conflict I remember cute little animations of where the troops were supposed to go and what not… thinking, hmm, maybe we shouldn’t just put all of our strategies on the tv. Remember Geraldo?
Anyways, it just put a bug in my head… that with all the technology out there, I’m sure secrets and missions get leaked, which of course is very bad for your team! Now, lets bring this back around! In wowland, we like to set up For The Horde raids on Alliance cities fairly often. The epic scale will probably return with Cata, but as it is right now, they tend to run fairly unopposed. Though… Sometimes… You meet the wall and epic battles ensue. Which brings me back to the days in wow-classic, before being able to have both factions on the same server in the same account, when I remember people from my server that had dual accounts switch and amass an opposing army. And those days, my friends, were epic battles no battleground or arena could possibly match! So I wonder though… in these new days we have, with fancy new fangled dual faction accounts on the same server… how much attack plan leaks there are. I guess since 90% of the population sits in Dalaran now, we kinda need to leak the info a bit to have a good spar…
ps… Don’t forget to vote for the next Horde Warchief! I’ll probably close the poll in a week or so!
Well, it’s BGs and WG only for me. But when I finally get a level 80 main on a PvP server, I’d definitely be inclined to join a city raid on a regular basis.
pvp servers are interesting… it’s almost like hatfield and mccoy mentality! You get ganked trying to level, get to 80, gear up, then go back and gank lowbies… though I usually don’t like to go around ganking. I like to think of myself as a gentleman and keep the fights in the cities.
though sometimes… you just see a night elf hunter that for no logical reason… you just want to punch in the face… with a fireball… >)
Lol! And this is why you don’t use Twitter to plan your attacks!
As for PvP, I like a little, but mostly just in BGs. I stormed the cities once and just cause I wanted me a War Bear. XD
I remember back in the old days… wow-classic days… a lot of people used the realm forums to post raid events. I mean, other than the obvious problems of doing a city raid, they would post pve raids too! And let me tell ya… bad idea! Cause you’ll have to chop your way through an ocean of the other faction to get to the instance! XD
I’m all for BGs and arenas, but I join every time I see a For the Horde raid going. I <3 messing with allies in their own backyard, so to speak :)
heh! I try to as well. on our server, Garithos, there’s a guy who had almost 70 FTH raids!! He’s a legend on our server. Although they tapered off a bit, in his hayday, he would run 2-3 a week! It was totally epic!
I like BGs and WG… not so much @ arenas
same here! I just don’t like the whole arena thing. I like being in a big group and not having to schedule my life around doing 10 battles a week. I just think that the smaller the group size, the more overpowered class combos get. That whole warrior+druid=win thing for the 2s ruined it for me from the start.
I have big hopes for the new rated BGs. Haven’t read much up on them though, so hopefully they are pretty decent.
Well, my problem is that I’ve made my main my DK. And I, for some reason, am totally able to PvP with my DK. I just suck at it. I’m great DPS, decent Tank, but when it comes to PvP, I’m weaksauce. Now, before Wrath I had a Rogue that was killer. I loved BGs. I owned WSG. WSG was my game. I could cap all three flags just by myself. Gods forbid I got ganked by a gnome. I lost all sense of reason and my sole purpose in life is to kill that gnome as many times as possible.
As far as World PvP goes, my server SUCKS. They have NO faction pride. Alliance gankings XRoads! “Eh. They’ll just do it again tomorrow.” It’s infuriating! I do like to sneak into Alliance towns and protect friends while they fish. Or troll Trade. Just silly stuff. I wish my realm cared more about stuff like that.
man, I loved pwning wsg on my mage! fire mage too! people would FREAK out when I grabbed the flag like “omg, give it to the noob warrior who’s picking his nose in the corner!”
and yet… I still managed to get all 3 caps a LOT of the time! man that was good times.
I still need to do some wsg, I’m like 30-40 flag caps away from the Conqueror title.
yeah, my old server was like that… the most anyone did was xroads… which is NOT pvp. On Garithos, at least we try to be a little more active… even if there’s like 10 horde to every 1 ally. wish we had more people on the other side to liven it up a bit.
