One of the things I never understood with rpg type games is that every piece of equipment is “one size fits all”. And this is especially troubling when things are labeled “dwarven” or “gnomish”… Those guys are tiny! You can’t expect my Redguard to be able to fit in that!
Though I guess WoW got around this with the armor tokens so it wouldn’t really matter what the drop was, you just head on down to the outfitter and get the right sized trousers. Still though, they should make you tailor gear when you get it! >)
First! :D
Atleast the guard didn’t say arrow to the… Wait a second… Are our hero’s knees vulnerable?! INCOMING MEME! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
lol, it’s a bad meme, but the guards do say it.. a LOT!
The dwarves of the elder scrolls series aren’t dwarfs. they’re are elves, and I not kidding.
WHY ARE THEY BUTCHERING OUR HEROES?!
mind=blown!!!!
Oh, that’s a sexy looking Dragon Born. I don’t see a problem here, that armor is still as protecting as female armor in other games.
True, True.
haha! who needs armor anyways… it’s all about lookin good!
Who actualy needs clothes if everything can be solved by proper magic…
Just got a new laptop… so I finaly managed to delve into Skyrim :D
if you play on a laptop, look into getting the “low resolution texture pack” mod. I could barely play it on mine until I got that one (and there’s another performance mod too) and now it runs just fine. and for textures, I sure don’t notice too much of a difference. just runs much smoother!
The way that set of armour looks in the second panel would be PERFECT for females. Seriously.
Which reminds me… I don’t have a problem with armour for females being more revealing, but really? Is it to attract pervy guys or something? How would it work in combat if there were large easy gaps for enemies to drive a sword or arrow into?
I really think it’s just to make females look sexy. >.<
And sorry for getting off-topic.
lol yes… yes it is! and what’s wrong with pervy guys? XD combat-wise, I don’t see it being very useful. I mean, most of the time they just have the mid drift and shoulders/neck exposed, which are the points you need to protect the most! a direct attack to the chest is probably your least likely concern. an attack from the side, stomach, or down into the neck are all points much harder to guard and can do a lot of damage if you have any contact. so yeah… lady armor doesn’t do too much.
maybe if you’re a rogue or something it’s ok, cause you’re more about speed than armor, but for a damage absorbing warrior, you’d probably want a set of plate that covers a bit more. >)
One thing to keep in mind though that the dwarves were one of the elven folk. They are repeatedly referred to as the Dwemer. And you have the Wood Elves, the Bosmer; the Snow Elves, the Falmer; the Dark Elves, the Dunmer.
bah, yeah. kinda jumped to some conclusions here. I should read more of those in game books huh? XD
I would say the names are not there to , you know, show the size of it but actually tells the material or the craftship of a certain race. Besides, last time I checked, they didn’t show the ”Size” of the armor until you wear it soo maybe you are just too damn lucky to get every armor you can use in the world ! Instead of getting crappy loot for hours just to get the cool ones…like in Diablo 3 :D
As for the ”One size fits all” well it is more of a problem for MMOs but not much in RPGs since they have almost identical height npcs and characters. And when they have diversity…they won’t let you change armors with NPCs and such.
I guess you need to make a decision when you have this problem of ”immersion”. You wanna enjoy the game and ignore these little ”game magic tricks” or concern yourself with them to no-extend…only to ruin your fun. Sad to say, if you feel ”turned off” by these little nitpicks, you probably find a lone warrior killing Dragons ridiculous :D
ah, good point. and who knows, maybe there’s some adjustment straps here and there. lol, like d3? man, it rains loot there! it’s sad too cause by the time you get geared up, you don’t even blink at green/blue drops. XD
yeah… I do tend to get my nits picked on sometimes, little touch of the ocd, but usually things don’t bug me too much… only enough to make a comic about it. >) as for immersion, Skyrim certainly tops the charts for pulling you in!
It was written out with a plot device in the original D&D series. Due to the expense and difficulty involved in making Magical Armour, one of the first enchantments was a size altering/fitting one.
Otherwise a month chasing wenches at the inn, or even a decent xmas/thanksgiving type celebration and that suit of armour that would cost a small barony would be worthless.
lol! gotta love ol DnD for covering all the bases! but I guess it’s like the grand pappy of the modern rpg/fantasy game genre. though a month chasing wenches doesn’t seem like such a bad idea either… >)
And that is why I don’t wear the armor I find. I make my own.
